WORK PROCESS
Week 1
Our task is to design 3 medical inserts of the facilities in Sunway Medical Centre. First of all, I visited Sunway Medical Centre website . Then I decided to choose Dietitics & Nutrition Services, Digestive Health Centre, and Wellness Centre. The reason that I chose those three is because the topics are related to each other and they have similarities in terms of the logo color.
Week 2
I tried to do the layout based on my sketches but honestly I think none could work out, so I decided to do a full image for front cover and have the contents on the back side.
I also added some gradients to make the picture seems more subtle and the text could be placed on the top of the image.
Week 3
I managed to finish two inserts. Basically the front page will be similar for all of the inserts, only differs in gradient's color. As for the back side, I tried to vary the layout but also keeping the layout consistent by adding the gradient and photo header/footer.
Week 4
On this week's class, we had in-class critique session for everyone's progress. Each of our work was presented for everyone to see and we can give feedback to them. As for my feedback, Ms. Sherry said that I did a good job and the front page looks well-designed. However, the border around the text on first insert's back page and the triangle gradient on the top corner might be unnecessary. One of my classmate also added that she liked the back layout of the second insert than the first one. Because in the first one, the logo was in the bottom and people might not notice it and it looks a bit messy because of the photo header.
Week 5
Based on last week's feedback, I did some changes here and there. Ms. Sherry also reminded me to create everything based on the grid so it will look more neat. She showed me how to change the page margin since my page's margin was too small.
