Lecture/Tutorial 1 : Introduction to Adobe Illustrator
On the first class, Mr. Hafiz taught us how to use Illustrator program and its tools. The main tool that we used for this exercise is Pen tool. By using Pen tool, we have more control when making lines since we can choose the anchor point then adjust it later by using Direct Selection tool.
After Mr. Hafiz was done with the tutorial, he instructed us to trace the vormator shapes and making a character out of those shapes. However, we are not allowed to distort the shapes.

As it can be seen from the image above, my first trial and the character were terrible since it was my first time using the Adobe Illustrator and I had a hard time in figuring out how the pen tool actually works. After I got home, I tried to make the character once again and this time, I decided to make something fluffy and cute lol. I imagined it to have bunny traits but it turns out that the bunny became really chubby and therefore, I named it Bunbun.

After practicing over and over again, I realized that I got better in using the pen tool. Initially, it would took me more than 2 hours to trace those shapes since I had to always re-do it. Recently I could finish tracing all the shapes within 1 hour.
14/09/17 (Week 3)
This week, our character will be going through laser cut. We are required to edit our character to remove the fill and clean up the unnecessary lines so it will be only the outline or we also can add etching. We have to ensure that each line is separated by Ungroup-ing it and release any Compound Path. Then, we should export the file into dxf file. The laser cut will be done in the Woodcraft studio in our school. With the laser cut machine, we could use wood board or acrylic and there are 3 types of cutting; cut through, ecthing, and engrave. To color our character, we could either use acrylic paint or do UV printing.

Pokemon Card
The character's done, the laser cut's done. Are we really finished? No, not yet. For the next step, we also need to make a pokemon card that will explain about our character.
First, we need to download the template. Since my character's color is pink, I decided to choose pink card which is a fairy type.

Then, we need to make the background by ourselves. I made the background by using vormator shapes and pen tool. I also use the duplicate mode to make the flowers.

Finally, we could insert it into the pokemon card template, then customize the card.
